Elizabeth Veloz is well known for her Contemporary Landscape installations. Her work embodies a modern interpretation on the traditional landscape. With a consistent theme of stark contrast using dark foregrounds on light backgrounds, her new installations make a bold statement in the translation of simple items in the natural world.
Veloz creates works on canvas using her own photographs as initial reference points. She then simplifies and abstracts the compositions focusing on color contrast and the relationship between light and dark. Her love of nature and the great outdoors as well as for all things environmental allows her to see nature from a completely different and exiting perspective.
